After practising business law at a large firm in Winnipeg, Renée made a change that allows her to work more closely with clients and see the difference she can make in their lives. Renée’s family law practice ranges from litigation to collaborative practice and she has appeared at all levels of Court in Manitoba. Renée has completed Advanced Mediation Training and is pleased to provide mediation services.

It is important for her to ensure that her clients understand the legal process and feel like they are involved in their own case. Renée says that what separates Mitousis Lemieux Howard from other firms is our dedication to resolving matters in the most amicable, efficient and cost effective way possible.

She has been recognized as a leader by her peers as one of The Best Lawyers™ in Canada for 2023. In 2021, MLH was selected as one of Canada’s top family law firms by the Globe & Mail’s Report on Business.

Renée is one of the few lawyers in Manitoba with a practice focus in third-party assisted reproductive technology and fertility law. She has worked with families to obtain declarations of parentage and to prepare and review surrogacy and donor agreements.

Renée is bilingual and does some legal work in French. Renée also practises in the area of residential real estate, including purchases, sales and refinances.

Renée is a Commissioner Representing the Public Interest for the Appeal Commission under The Workers Compensation Act of Manitoba. She also sits on the appeal board of the Manitoba Soccer Association.

She is also kept busy by the boys in her life: her husband, their two sons and their yellow lab. To de-stress she plays hockey, runs, practises yoga and eats (a lot) – she is a self-proclaimed “foodie” and enjoys trying new restaurants.
